With the wines from Merry Edwards we had quite a feast.
Here is the recipe to the stuffed date appetizer:
Devils on Horseback
Makes 12. This is a
riff on Angels on Horseback which involves oysters. We enjoyed this at our 2014 Thanksgiving
dinner.
12 large
pitted Medjool dates
¼ c. good
blue cheese
6 slices
prosciutto, halved lengthwise
Heat oven to 400 degrees.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Put about 1 tsp. blue cheese into the cavity
of each date. Wrap each with a
prosciutto strip. Place on baking sheet
and bake until warmed through and cheese is melted, approximately 25 minutes. Serve while still warm.
