I just love starting the weekends with a wonderful breakfast. A friend had given me a home-baked loaf of bread so I indulged by making French Toast out of it and topping it with sauteed apples in a rum sauce. Alongside you see thick cut bacon - always easiest to cook in a 400 degree oven on a cookie sheet (no spattering frying pan, and easy to collect the bacon fat for future uses).
